The Program and philosophy of Humberside Montessori School are based on the education method discovered and developed by Dr. Maria Montessori.
We are privileged to offer Montessori programs at
four levels. The first 3 levels encompass a three-year cycle. The journey begins in the Primary level (Casa) for children 2 1/2 to 6 years of age. It then continues with the Lower Elementary level for children 6 to 9 years of age, and then eventually proceeds through the Upper Elementary level for children 9 to 12 years of age,
to the 2-year Adolescent Program for children 12 to 14 years of
age.
As Humberside Montessori has proudly gained A.M.I. Accreditation, every environment at each level is fully equipped with AMI-approved materials and directed by a professionally trained AMI-certified teacher, specializing in the respective level.
It is worthy to note that because the Montessori philosophy is based on the natural, wholesome growth of rolex store the child during specific stages in their development, children must begin in the primary level at an age that will ensure the successful completion of the three-year cycle during their distinct stage. (This age is typically 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 years old upon entry of the Casa level). It follows that each progressive level requires full completion of the level preceding it.
Parent Involvement...
The task of nurturing the growth and well-being of a child cannot be assumed without the interest and participation of the child's parents. In order to offer maximum support and assistance to the child, the aims and objectives of the parents and the school must be in harmony. Humberside Montessori School systematically organizes parent Information Sessions, Material Presentation Workshops, Observations and Parent-Teacher Interviews to help parents become progressively more enlightened about Montessori and their decision to have their child's development supported by this unique and natural method of learning. All parents are encouraged to attend Parent Education Nights. In addition, Humberside Montessori School has a wonderfully cooperative parents' association whose leading purpose is to enhance community life at our school. This committee organizes fund-raisers and a host of special events throughout the school year, and all parents are welcome to join.
